LA PARTICIPACIÓN DE LA MUJER EN EL PODER JUDICIAL FEDERAL

Resumen

El artículo analiza la participación de las mujeres en el Poder Judicial Federal en México desde una perspectiva histórica, social y jurídica. Parte del concepto de justicia como un valor basado en la igualdad y resalta el papel del juez como un actor humano cuya formación ética y social influye en sus decisiones.Se destaca la importancia de incorporar la perspectiva de género en la impartición de justicia, señalando que la presencia de mujeres juzgadoras aporta empatía y sensibilidad en la resolución de casos, especialmente en contextos de vulnerabilidad.Asimismo, se examinan los obstáculos estructurales y culturales que han limitado el acceso de las mujeres a cargos altos dentro del Poder Judicial, como los estereotipos de género y los llamados “techos de cristal”. El texto también hace un recorrido histórico sobre los avances en los derechos políticos y la incorporación de mujeres en la judicatura en México.Finalmente, concluye que, aunque ha habido avances, aún persisten desigualdades, por lo que se requieren acciones afirmativas y cambios estructurales para lograr una verdadera igualdad de género en el ámbito judicial.

Abstract

The article analyzes the participation of women in the Federal Judiciary in Mexico from a historical, social, and legal perspective. It starts from the concept of justice as a value based on equality and highlights the role of the judge as a human actor whose ethical and social training influences their decisions. It emphasizes the importance of incorporating a gender perspective in the administration of justice, noting that the presence of female judges brings empathy and sensitivity to case resolution, especially in contexts of vulnerability. Additionally, it examines the structural and cultural obstacles that have limited women's access to high positions within the Judiciary, such as gender stereotypes and the so-called "glass ceilings." The text also provides a historical overview of the advances in political rights and the incorporation of women into the judiciary in Mexico. Finally, it concludes that, although there have been advances, inequalities still persist, and affirmative actions and structural changes are required to achieve true gender equality in the judicial sphere.
